Strolling Down the Tracks

Strolling down the tracks listening for the train
Standing in the desert waiting on the rain
Can you see it coming just look back again
Looking past the sand filled tracks at what needs to mend

People living a life never taking blame
For the tragedies at hand, saying its all the same
The homeless never sleeping and the hungry never fed
What does it take to lower ones head

Everything thats missing we hold deep inside
Instead of seeing it we only see our pride
Knocking people over to get our just dues
Heart breaking to see how i treat you

One things for certain the answers in our heart
But this foolish pride and lust with it we can not part
So what does it take to help us all see
The truth we seek is between you and me

What is the answer for that broken heart
For all the restless nights that gives us this messed up start
Where is the answer that opens our hearts to see
The answer truly lies between you and me

Our nature is foul, malaligned and unjust
Going through life with others, that for you, have no trust
How does it make you feel, to be as blind as you can be
All because you can't see the forest for the trees

This is what life brings us over and over again
Trying to show us where we need to bend
Showing us through example how we need to be
So what does it take for us all to see

LOVE
