Blessed In This Place

BLESSED IN THIS PLACE We live a life that is not our own We walk the path the sages have shown The alarm bell rings before the sun And flesh cries out, “Not this… not one…” The bed feels warm, the body pleads The ego measures selfish needs Each inch we move can feel like pain A war of night inside the brain But then we rise… though slow… though weak Toward the place our hearts still seek And in that room where friends ignite The dark is pierced by borrowed light What dragged like chains now feels like wings The soul remembers higher things The burden fades, the spirit wakes As joy replaces old mistakes So mark the place where sleep was slain Where sorrow turned to holy gain Blessed is He who brought me near And changed my dread to living cheer CHORUS Blessed is He who called my name Who turned my sorrow into flame From bed of dust to morning light He pulled me close… He gave me sight ברוך הוא שקרא לי קום מהחושך אל אור היום מן העפר אל קו ישר קרב אותי—אליו נשאר

From Darkness to Light

Only by darkness does a man know his place. Only by absence does he search for the Face. One time he feels the Creator works on him. One time he feels his own strength is not dim. But both states come from the root above, to teach him the path to prayer and love. When darkness falls it is not for despair. It is a doorway, a call to prepare. Lowliness above reason is not defeat, it is walking with faith when nothing feels sweet. When the Creator is felt, it is not because man won. It is because the Creator decided to shine like the sun. And through the dark man learns to see that every approach begins from He. Ascents and descents, this is how we walk. Through broken feeling, through prayerful talk. The vessels need Hassadim, mercy and grace, so the heart can endure every changing place. Only from darkness can love-sick rise, when all feels lost before the eyes. Then from the depth, if the cry is true, help comes from the Creator to carry him through. So every moment renew th...

Cause and Consequence

Cause and Consequence  We live in a world of cause and consequence The way things are going, it truly makes sense The ground parting around the world Showing us our choices weren't furled Africa splitting into two All because of our egoistic view Because of the hatred expressed in the lands Instead of holding each other’s hands The mountains groan and the oceans rise While man still trades in his selfish lies He builds his towers, he draws his lines Then acts surprised at the warning signs The earth itself begins to shake From all the blows that our egos make For nature follows one perfect law While man keeps tearing with tooth and claw We were not made to live this way Devouring night and cursing day We were made to learn, to bend, to see That love alone can set us free For every fracture in the ground Reflects a hatred we have found And every storm and every flame Whispers back man is to blame Yet covered deep beneath the pain There still remains a holy gain For every crack that ...

The Torah and Prayer

The Torah and Prayer Torah and Prayer are two opposite parts Our job is to learn the difference so we can start Torah brings Light from Above down below Prayer raises the lack from the heart’s inner woe One fills the vessel, the other reveals The cracks in the soul that the ego conceals Torah is given, a gift from the King Prayer is the cry that the broken ones bring One is the answer, the other the plea Together they build true equivalency When I learn Torah but don’t feel the need It turns into knowledge that starves out the seed But when prayer awakens from deep in despair The Torah brings Light and corrects what is there So back and forth like the breath that we take Deficiency rising, fulfillment awake Not one without two, not two without One This is the path till correction is done So give me the lack, let my heart truly pray Then dress it with Torah to show me the way For in this connection, the two become One And the work of the Creator in us is begun

The Man Who Sold His Beams

The Man Who Sold His Beams He came to the path with fire in his chest Certain his wisdom was better than the rest He spoke about love, connection, the light But inside his ego prepared for the fight. The Ten sat together like brothers in line Each one carrying a spark of the Divine But his will to receive began its routine Searching the cracks in the human machine. “Look at that friend, he’s lazy as hell. That one talks big but his heart you can’t tell. And that one over there, what a fraud in disguise.” Thus spoke the sweet voice of the inner spies. At first he believed it—every damn word. The poison felt smart, logical, assured. He sharpened his judgment like a polished blade While the bridge to the friends quietly decayed. Then the darkness arrived like a cold desert wind. The lessons felt empty, no warmth within. The Creator went silent, the heart turned to stone And suddenly he felt completely alone. He cursed the Ten. He cursed the path. He cursed the Creator in quiet wrath. “May...

Sukkah of Light

Sukkah of Light Going to war means shaping the soul Not for the body but for the goal To tie our hearts like ropes so tight And aim them all to the One true Light We gather together, ten by ten Broken riders and working men Each friend pushing the other ahead Toward the place where the Creator is spread Together we rise, together we fall Creator above us, holding us all Turn this war into peace tonight Cover our hearts with Your Sukkah of Light יחד נקום יחד ניפול הבורא מעלינו מחזיק את הכל הפוך מלחמה לשלום בלב פרוש עלינו סוכת שלום עכשיו The war we fight is the will to receive A thief in the heart that makes us deceive It whispers softly “take for your own” And leaves every man dying alone But ten friends standing shoulder to shoulder Turn weak little sparks into burning boulders We shout from the depth of a desperate prayer “Creator come finish the work started there!” Together we rise, together we fall Creator above us, holding us all Turn this war into peace tonight Cover our hearts w...

The Partzuf Within

The Partzuf Within Before form there was only a cry, A wanting that did not know why. A hunger burning deep inside, A will to receive it could not hide. The Light approached — simple, whole, kind, But shattered the peace of the mind. For pleasure received without care Left shame awakening there. So the desire learned to restrain, Not to kill want — but change the gain. A silence formed… a sacred stop, Malchut refusing to simply drop. And there inside that inward pause, A Head was born — obeying laws. The Rosh now asks before delight: “Can this be taken for the Light?” Calculation — subtle and thin, Not what I want… but Who I’m in. The desire weighs what it may receive, Only what love can truly give. Then comes the Toch , the felt embrace, Where Light and intention share one place. Pleasure enters — calm and bright, Because reception now serves the Light. And oh how different pleasure feels When bestowal turns the wheels. No longer burning, grasping flame, But quiet joy wi...
