“The Ladder He Left Behind.”

Baal HaSulam lived a difficult life

Filled with trouble, pain and strife

Yet through it all he found a way
To bring the wisdom to our day

He saw a world consumed by hate
And knew mankind could not just wait

He knew the answer had to be
For man to rise above the me

To join together heart to heart
For this is where the work must start

He showed us how to organize
How through the friends a man can rise

How ten can gather and become
As if the many were but one

He worked and wrote both day and night
To open for us the path to Light

Not for riches, not for fame
Not so the world would know his name

But for the souls who someday might
Need his words to find the Light

His troubles came, his hardships grew
Still he continued what he knew

For somewhere deep within his heart
He knew his writings were a start

A road for those who came behind
A way for mankind to finally find

That all the hatred we must rise above
And build between us only love

Baal HaSulam has gone away
Yet still his words are here today

And every time the Ten becomes one

The work he started carries on
